Charles served twelve years on active duty in the United State Marine Corps as both an artillery officer and as a lawyer, finishing his service as a major.
Charles is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Texas and Arkansas, the United States Claims Court, United States Tax Court, United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
